Down in my heart a fire’s burning bright
The words come out with spite and wrath and hate
For all will see; they want for that long night
When ire-filled words will make the dark man great.
Who is this beast of darkened night and rage?
With cries of siren’s sharp inviting scream?
They follow its call but it will not assuage;
He lingers like a dark and desperate dream.
One day his secrets will call out for all
To tempt with sweet promise in times most dire
When all temptation breaks through my resolve
Those words will burn with wrath and holy fire.
For it will eat the hearts of all it sees;
The beast of rage makes all fall to their knees.
